Note
(SDS, Aug 2018); IteratorProxy is a handle to various iterator objects (Select,Read,Write,MetaData,...) that essentially implements the intrusive shared pointer functionality of std::shared_ptr, without the thread safety or any other niceties.

TODO: Remove it. It is really horrible.
